Deuteronomy 3:17, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Moses is describing the land already granted to the tribes of Reuben and Gad east of the Jordan, before Israel crosses into Canaan. Verse 17 traces that territory's western boundary: the Jordan River running through the Arabah, the rift valley, from Chinnereth, the lake later called the Sea of Galilee, south to the Sea of the Arabah, that is, the Salt Sea or Dead Sea, with the slopes of Pisgah on the eastern side.
