Exodus 14:26 meaning and explanation

Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, so that the waters may flow back over the Egyptians and their chariots and horsemen.”

Exodus 14:26, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

At the climax of the sea crossing, the LORD speaks to Moses as the Egyptian army struggles in the divided waters. The command answers Moses' earlier stretch of the staff, which opened the way for Israel; now the same hand signals the return of the waters.
