Exodus 22:15 meaning and explanation

Exodus 22:15, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
These verses continue Israel's case law on borrowed animals, given through Moses to a people learning covenant life. A borrower who loses an animal while the owner is away must repay, but if the owner was present, the owner could guard the animal himself, so no restitution is owed.
