Exodus 35:2 meaning and explanation
For six days work may be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of complete rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on that day must be put to death.

Moses has gathered the whole congregation at the foot of Sinai, and before the tabernacle work begins he restates the command that governs all of it. The seventh day is set apart as holy, a Sabbath of complete rest belonging to the LORD, while the other six are for ordinary labor.
