Exodus 7:1 meaning and explanation

The LORD answered Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet.

Exodus 7:1, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

God is speaking to Moses at the start of the confrontation with Pharaoh. Moses had protested that he was slow of speech, so God restates the roles he set: Moses stands before Pharaoh as God's representative, and Aaron speaks his words, just as a prophet speaks for God.
