Ezekiel 30:18 meaning and explanation

The day will be darkened in Tahpanhes when I break the yoke of Egypt and her proud strength comes to an end. A cloud will cover her, and her daughters will go into captivity.

Ezekiel 30:18, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Ezekiel is prophesying against Egypt, and in verse 18 the focus falls on Tahpanhes, a frontier city in the Nile Delta where Judean refugees later settled. The darkening day echoes the Day of the LORD language from verse 3, a day of clouds and doom.
