Ezekiel 36:28 meaning and explanation
Then you will live in the land that I gave your forefathers; you will be My people, and I will be your God.
Ezekiel 36:28, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Ezekiel 36:28 closes a promise God gives through the prophet to Israelites scattered in exile because of their idolatry and bloodshed. After promising to gather them, cleanse them, and place His Spirit within them, God names the outcome: life again in the land sworn to their forefathers, and the covenant formula, “you will be My people, and I will be your God.” That phrase echoes covenant language from Genesis through the prophets.
