Ezekiel 37:4, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Ezekiel, a priest among the exiles in Babylon, is shown a valley of very dry bones and told to preach to them. God commands him to prophesy, and the message begins with an address to the bones themselves: "Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD." The Hebrew word for prophesy, naba, means to speak on God's behalf, so Ezekiel is not asked to analyze the situation but to deliver God's word to something utterly lifeless.
