Galatians 4:9 meaning and explanation
But now that you know God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you are turning back to those weak and worthless principles? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again?
Galatians 4:9, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Paul writes to Gentile believers in Galatia who are being pressured to adopt Jewish law observance as necessary for belonging to God's people. Having described their former slavery to beings that are not gods, he corrects himself: what matters is not so much that they know God but that God knows them.
