Galatians 6:1 meaning and explanation

Brothers, if someone is caught in a trespass, you who are spiritual should restore him with a spirit of gentleness. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted.

Galatians 6:1, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Paul is writing to the churches in Galatia near the end of his letter, addressing believers as brothers and sisters. The Greek word for restore, katartizō, was used for mending nets or setting a broken bone, so the picture is repair rather than punishment.
