Haggai 2:17 meaning and explanation
I struck you—all the work of your hands—with blight, mildew, and hail, but you did not turn to Me, declares the LORD.
Haggai 2:17, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The LORD speaks through Haggai to the returned exiles in Jerusalem, who had let the temple lie unfinished while tending their own houses. Earlier in the chapter, Haggai uses the priests' rulings to show that uncleanness spreads more readily than holiness, so the people's offerings were defiled.
