Hosea 5:14 meaning and explanation
For I am like a lion to Ephraim and like a young lion to the house of Judah. I, even I, will tear them to pieces and then go away. I will carry them off where no one can rescue them.
Hosea 5:14, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Hosea speaks as God's prophet to the northern kingdom of Israel, called Ephraim, and to Judah in the south. Because both have turned to idols and to Assyria for help instead of to the LORD, God describes Himself as a lion, the predator they cannot escape.
