Hosea 9:17 meaning and explanation
My God will reject them because they have not obeyed Him; and they shall be wanderers among the nations.
Hosea 9:17, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
These are the closing words of Hosea's prophecy against Ephraim, the northern kingdom of Israel, spoken in the eighth century BC as Assyria threatened. Hosea speaks as God's spokesman, and "My God" expresses his own grief as he announces the covenant curse already set out in Deuteronomy: disobedience brings expulsion from the land and scattering among the nations.
