Isaiah 18:1 meaning and explanation
Woe to the land of whirring wings, along the rivers of Cush,
Isaiah 18:1, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Isaiah speaks God's oracle against the land of Cush, the region south of Egypt around the upper Nile, whose rivers and papyrus boats made it a power to reckon with. The "whirring wings" may suggest the hum of insects along those waters or the rush of many ships and messengers.
