Isaiah 27:1 meaning and explanation

Isaiah 27:1, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Isaiah 27 opens a series of "in that day" oracles about God's future deliverance of His people. Here the prophet pictures the LORD as a warrior drawing a sword against Leviathan, the sea dragon of ancient Near Eastern myth, named with the same phrases used in Job and in Canaanite poetry for the chaos serpent.
