Isaiah 28:9 meaning and explanation
Whom is He trying to teach? To whom is He explaining His message? To infants just weaned from milk? To babies removed from the breast?
Isaiah 28:9, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Isaiah 28:9 is the taunt of the drunken priests and prophets of Jerusalem, who have just been described staggering at their tables. They sneer at the prophet's repeated, simple instruction in verse 10 and ask, "Whom is He trying to teach?" The question is sarcastic: they resent being addressed as infants just weaned from milk, as if they were babies needing milk rather than solid food.
