Isaiah 38:12 meaning and explanation
My dwelling has been picked up and removed from me like a shepherd’s tent. I have rolled up my life like a weaver; He cuts me off from the loom; from day until night You make an end of me.
Isaiah 38:12, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Hezekiah speaks these words in the psalm he wrote after his illness and recovery (verse 9), looking back on how death felt while he was sick. He pictures his life as a shepherd's tent, quickly pulled up and carried away, then as cloth on a weaver's loom, rolled up and cut off before the work is finished.
