Isaiah 51:6 meaning and explanation
Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look at the earth below; for the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment, and its people will die like gnats. But My salvation will last forever, and My righteousness will never fail.
Isaiah 51:6, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
God is speaking through Isaiah to exiles in Babylon, calling them to trust him rather than the seemingly permanent powers around them. The heavens and earth, however solid they appear, will wear out like an old garment, and its people will die like gnats, frail and brief.
