Isaiah 58:14 meaning and explanation

then you will delight yourself in the LORD, and I will make you ride on the heights of the land and feed you with the heritage of your father Jacob.” For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.

Isaiah 58:14, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

God speaks through Isaiah to a people who fast and pray yet also oppress their workers and quarrel (verses 3 and 4). Verses 13 and 14 close the chapter with a promise tied to honoring the Sabbath: if they treat God's holy day as a delight rather than a day for their own pursuits, then God Himself becomes their delight.
