James 4:17 meaning and explanation
Anyone, then, who knows the right thing to do, yet fails to do it, is guilty of sin.
James 4:17, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
James has just warned wealthy merchants against boasting about their plans while leaving God out (verses 13 to 16). He closes the chapter with a general principle that grows out of that example: the person who knows the good he ought to do and does not do it is guilty of sin.
