Jeremiah 23:30 meaning and explanation
“Therefore behold,” declares the LORD, “I am against the prophets who steal from one another words they attribute to Me.”
Jeremiah 23:30, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Jeremiah 23 records the LORD's indictment of Judah's leaders and prophets through Jeremiah, before Jerusalem fell to Babylon. In verse 30 the charge is that prophets take one another's sayings and pass them on as words from God, so a merely human phrase circulates with borrowed divine authority.
