Jeremiah 23:7 meaning and explanation
So behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when they will no longer say, ‘As surely as the LORD lives, who brought the Israelites up out of the land of Egypt.’
Jeremiah 23:7, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Jeremiah 23:7 continues the LORD's promise through the prophet Jeremiah, spoken to Judah shortly before the Babylonian exile. Verses 5 and 6 promise a righteous Branch from David's line, and verse 8 completes the thought: a future rescue will be so great that the old confession, "As surely as the LORD lives, who brought the Israelites up out of Egypt," will give way to a new one.
