Explanation preview

The LORD speaks through Jeremiah to a people already scattered in exile, and He tells the prophet to write the promise down so it will outlast the disaster. The verse names both Israel and Judah, the northern and southern kingdoms long divided, and promises that God will bring them back from captivity to the land He gave their fathers.
