Jeremiah 8:17 meaning and explanation
“For behold, I will send snakes among you, vipers that cannot be charmed, and they will bite you,” declares the LORD.
Jeremiah 8:17, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The LORD is speaking through Jeremiah to Judah as Babylon's army closes in. The snakes and vipers are part of the covenant curses for disobedience (Deuteronomy 32:24), and the image fits the invasion: an enemy no charm or treaty can turn aside.
