Job 28:14 meaning and explanation
The ocean depths say, ‘It is not in me,’ while the sea declares, ‘It is not with me.’
Job 28:14, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Job 28 is a poem about wisdom placed in the middle of Job's dialogue, and here the deep itself is made to speak. The Hebrew word for the ocean depths is tehom, the primeval deep of Genesis 1:2, and it answers with a flat denial: wisdom is not in me.
