Job 3:9 meaning and explanation
May its morning stars grow dark; may it wait in vain for daylight; may it not see the breaking of dawn.
Job 3:9, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Job has just lost his children, wealth and health, and here he speaks for the first time, cursing the day of his birth rather than God. In verse 9 he keeps piling imprecations on that night, wishing its "morning stars" would go dark and its dawn never break.
