Job 41:31 meaning and explanation
He makes the depths seethe like a cauldron; he makes the sea like a jar of ointment.
Job 41:31, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
God is speaking to Job out of the whirlwind, describing Leviathan, the great sea creature no human can master. In verse 31 the imagery shifts to the water itself: as Leviathan thrashes, the deep churns like a boiling pot, and the sea turns thick and glossy like ointment being mixed.
