Joel 3:2 meaning and explanation

I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will enter into judgment against them concerning My people, My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations as they divided up My land.

Joel 3:2, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

The LORD speaks through the prophet Joel to a restored Judah. After He brings His people home from exile, He summons the surrounding nations to a place called the Valley of Jehoshaphat, a name meaning "the LORD judges." There He sits in judgment, not on a private quarrel but on how those nations treated His people, His inheritance, scattering them and dividing up His land.
