Joel 3:8 meaning and explanation

I will sell your sons and daughters into the hands of the people of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabeans—to a distant nation.” Indeed, the LORD has spoken.

Joel 3:8, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

In Joel 3 the LORD addresses Tyre, Sidon and Philistia, who had sold the people of Judah and Jerusalem to the Greeks (verse 6). Verse 8 announces the reversal: as they sold God's people, their own sons and daughters will be sold to Judah, who will in turn sell them to the Sabeans, a distant trading people.
