John 17:14 meaning and explanation
I have given them Your word and the world has hated them; for they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
John 17:14, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Jesus is praying to the Father in the upper room, shortly before his arrest, and here he speaks about the disciples he has kept and taught. Having given them God's word, he observes that the world has hated them, because they no longer belong to it, just as he does not belong to it.
