Then Jesus, realizing that they were about to come and make Him king by force, withdrew again to a mountain by Himself.

The crowd had just eaten the multiplied bread and concluded that Jesus was the Prophet promised in Deuteronomy. In their minds that meant a deliverer who would restore Israel, so they were ready to seize Him and crown Him by force.
