John 7:52 meaning and explanation
“Aren’t you also from Galilee?” they replied. “Look into it, and you will see that no prophet comes out of Galilee.”
John 7:52, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
These are the chief priests and Pharisees answering Nicodemus, a fellow member of the ruling council, who had urged them to hear Jesus before condemning Him. Rather than answer his point about the law, they mock him as a Galilean sympathizer and appeal to Scripture: no prophet, they claim, arises from Galilee.
