Joshua 10:13 meaning and explanation
So the sun stood still and the moon stopped until the nation took vengeance upon its enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jashar? “So the sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day.”
Joshua 10:13, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Joshua has just prayed publicly for the sun over Gibeon and the moon over Aijalon to stand still while Israel pursues the Amorite coalition. The narrator reports that it happened and cites the Book of Jashar, an otherwise lost collection of early Hebrew poetry, as his source.
