Judges 13:22 meaning and explanation
“We are going to die,” he said to his wife, “for we have seen God!”
Judges 13:22, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Manoah says this to his wife right after the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar and they fell facedown in fear (verses 19 to 21). In Israel's understanding, seeing God or his messenger face to face meant death, since no one could see the holy God and live.
