Judges 16:27, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

The Philistine lords have gathered in Dagon's temple to celebrate what they believe their god has done: Samson, the enemy who devastated their land, is now blind, shackled and brought out to amuse the crowd. The narrator pauses to count the house: the rulers are inside, and about three thousand men and women look down from the roof, a crowd packed onto a flat roof built for such gatherings.
