Judges 6:16 meaning and explanation
“Surely I will be with you,” the LORD replied, “and you will strike down all the Midianites as one man.”
Judges 6:16, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Gideon has just protested that his clan is the weakest in Manasseh and that he is the youngest in his father's house. The LORD answers not by praising Gideon's ability but by pledging His own presence: "Surely I will be with you." The promise echoes the call of Moses in Exodus 3, where God's presence was likewise the ground of an impossible commission.
