No one shall stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so will I be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.

The LORD is speaking to Joshua, Moses' assistant, who has just inherited leadership of Israel after Moses' death and is about to lead the people across the Jordan. The promise has two parts: no enemy will be able to stand against him for his whole life, and God's presence with him will match what Moses experienced.
