Leviticus 3:2 meaning and explanation
He is to lay his hand on the head of the offering and slaughter it at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. Then Aaron’s sons the priests shall sprinkle the blood on all sides of the altar.
Leviticus 3:2, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
These instructions are given to Israel at Sinai through Moses, describing how an ordinary worshipper brings a peace offering, a voluntary sacrifice expressing thanksgiving or fellowship with God. Laying a hand on the animal's head identified the offerer with the gift, presenting it as his own before the LORD.
