Leviticus 4:20 meaning and explanation
He shall offer this bull just as he did the bull for the sin offering; in this way the priest will make atonement on their behalf, and they will be forgiven.
Leviticus 4:20, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The LORD is speaking to Moses about the whole congregation of Israel sinning unintentionally. Once the assembly becomes aware of its guilt, the elders lay their hands on a bull, and the anointed priest carries out the same ritual already described for the priest's own sin offering: blood sprinkled before the veil, blood on the horns of the incense altar, the rest poured at the base of the altar, and the fat burned.
