Luke 14:32 meaning and explanation
And if he is unable, he will send a delegation while the other king is still far off, to ask for terms of peace.
Luke 14:32, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Jesus is speaking to the large crowds traveling with him, using a picture from ordinary warfare to press home what discipleship costs. A king who cannot match an enemy's twenty thousand soldiers does not march out to be destroyed; he sends envoys while the other king is still far off and asks for peace.
