And as He approached the descent from the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of disciples began to praise God joyfully in a loud voice for all the miracles they had seen:

Jesus is riding toward Jerusalem on a borrowed colt, and the crowd of disciples who have followed him now praise God aloud as the road descends from the Mount of Olives. Luke grounds their joy in what they have already seen, the healings and feedings and other signs of his ministry.
