Luke 22:28 meaning and explanation

You are the ones who have stood by Me in My trials.

Luke 22:28, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Jesus speaks these words at the Passover meal, after the disciples have argued about greatness and just before Judas betrays him and Peter denies him. He turns to the Twelve and names their faithfulness: they have stayed with him through his trials, the Greek word peirasmos, meaning testing or trial.
