Luke 24:38 meaning and explanation
“Why are you troubled,” Jesus asked, “and why do doubts arise in your hearts?
Luke 24:38, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The risen Jesus speaks these words to the gathered disciples in Jerusalem, who have just heard the Emmaus report and are now terrified, thinking they see a ghost. His question is gentle rather than harsh: he names their turmoil and the doubts rising in their hearts, then offers the evidence of his hands and feet and eats fish before them.
