Luke 9:5 meaning and explanation
If anyone does not welcome you, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that town, as a testimony against them.”
Luke 9:5, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Jesus is sending the Twelve out to proclaim the kingdom of God and heal the sick, and he tells them how to respond to rejection. Shaking the dust off their feet was a gesture familiar to Jews, a sign of disassociation from a place, and here it becomes a testimony against a town that refuses the message.
