As soon as Jesus came up out of the water, He saw the heavens breaking open and the Spirit descending on Him like a dove.

Jesus has just been baptized by John in the Jordan, identifying with the repentant crowds though Mark gives no hint of any sin of his own. Coming up from the water, he alone sees the heavens split open and the Spirit come down on him like a dove.
