Jesus has just called four fishermen to follow Him, and now they arrive at Capernaum, a fishing town on the Sea of Galilee that becomes Jesus' base of ministry. On the Sabbath he enters the synagogue, the local gathering place for prayer and Scripture, and begins to teach.
