Mark 11:8 meaning and explanation
Many in the crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut from the fields.
Mark 11:8, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The crowd is escorting Jesus toward Jerusalem at the Mount of Olives, just after He has sent two disciples to fetch a colt for Him to ride. Spreading cloaks on the road was a gesture of honor for a king, and the branches cut from the fields echo the festive practice of the Feast of Tabernacles.
