Mark 15:43 meaning and explanation
Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent Council member who himself was waiting for the kingdom of God, boldly went to Pilate to ask for the body of Jesus.
Mark 15:43, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Joseph of Arimathea was a respected member of the Sanhedrin, the same council that had condemned Jesus, yet Mark tells us he was himself waiting for the kingdom of God. Asking Pilate for a crucified man's body was risky, since it identified Joseph with a condemned criminal, and Mark calls his approach bold.
