Mark 2:15 meaning and explanation
While Jesus was dining at Levi’s house, many tax collectors and sinners were eating with Him and His disciples—for there were many who followed Him.

Jesus has just called Levi, a tax collector, to follow him, and now he is eating at Levi's house in Capernaum. Tax collectors worked for the Roman occupiers and were widely despised, and "sinners" here likely means people whose way of life put them outside respectable religious society.
