One Sabbath Jesus was passing through the grainfields, and His disciples began to pick the heads of grain as they walked along.

Jesus and his disciples are walking through ripe grain on a Sabbath, and the disciples begin plucking heads of grain to eat as they go. In the law of Moses, this was explicitly allowed for travelers passing through a field (Deuteronomy 23:25); only harvesting with a sickle was forbidden.
